I've decided to admit to my non-amazon online spending too. Its all part of the same problem, and anyway it appears my amazon spending is really boring and pedestrian these days.
EDubya, yes I have multiple wish lists, for exactly that, I just put "interesting things" on a wishlist so I can buy them "later". My wishlist is now over 10 pages long. I also briefly experimented with enabling "1-click" and had to turn it off, must never turn it on again!
Aaron - I do shop online at other places too... Amazon is my main issue though, so I will get it under control first. I sure wish Amazon had frequent buyer points!
I have also found that it is almost as satisfying to just put the stuff in my cart and not pull the trigger as it is to actually order it. Of course, the downside is that if you are not careful, you can accidentally order everything in your cart...which I almost did when I preordered rockband for wii. whoops.
I have found the secret is not to spend it all at one place (like Amazon). Instead, spend a little bit here, there, and everywhere so you can't see it all. That is WAY more effective. :)
