4.1, supposedly 40 mi (?) w/of santa rosa. artwork tapping against the walls woke me up (& of course nobody else). not big, relatively unexciting. over before i realized what it was.

5.4 quake centered @ chino hills, while visiting my parents. good land roller, not jarring, though sudden. first quake since moving back to my home state, so i was really giddy/excited about it. 's fun, unless the refinery down the hill from my parent's house explodes or something.

Earthquake hits very nearby in San Jose (Alum Rock). We bolt to get the kids out of their beds and in a doorway; they never even woke up. :) I shook more than the quake did since I didn't know how the new house would stand up to a quake. It was a 5.6

4:31 a.m. the world shook like never before, my bed mattress flying in one direction, the box spring in another. I escaped off a torn fire exit where stairs had separated from the building. My apt was red tagged.

magnitude 5.6. Decent sized. First earthquake for the kids. I grabbed Large, Aaron grabbed Medium. Small rode it out in the tub. no damage, but lots of excitement.

I was at work and was nearly crushed by gigantic boxes full of our newly arrived christmas catalogs stacked up in our stock room. Made it to the doorway just in time as they all came down behind me.
laying on the couch, I totally felt it, but Aaron was in the same room and missed it because he was walking around. Not very big. 4.0, centered in the east bay.
These are earthquakes I actually feel, not an attempt to chronicle worldwide earthquakes (that's probably another zeaLOG)
1 is barely there, 3 you felt a LOT, 5 is crazy talk.
