Saratoga Gap
Longest run yet in the 5 fingers. Some minor blisters, etc., but nothing really. Definitely feels like possibly some bruising on my right foot. Not sure, but I'll keep an eye on it.

While pacing K at The Ring in Shenandoah, jumped in at mile 35 or so (out of 71) to backtrack along the trail to meet him. Went down the dreaded Waterfall (as steep as it sounds) to meet him at the bottom and turn around to go up it with him. Quads and glutes both got a beating. Late summer sunshine, clear blue skies, no humidity, a sprinkling of the first fallen red leaves on the rocky trails. Gorgeous.
Testing GPS in 5 fingers. Too steep both directions for much running. Painful; lots if large rocks. Horse manure. Not much cover. Good views.
I thought it would be better to do the more gradual climb on the way up, but it was still steep enough as to be impossible to run while the steeper downward bit was too steep to run down. Reversing that direction would make the climb more challenging, but would make it possible to run more of it, I think.
Unfortunately, neither direction will make the rocks less prominent and sharp. :/
