I only made it to 5 before I needed to dial it back for my IT band (but then I ran-walked the last mile). Gloppy morning roads with T, the massage therapist. I was sleep deprived and perhaps not the best company.
Joined the trail kids' regular Tuesday-evening run. I did the short, easy option. Twinkling fireflies hovering inches over the trail made it look strangely like Christmas. Except that it was 90 degrees. Margaritas and guac post-run.
Ran the Los Gatos Creek Trail. It was a little rainy, but there was only a short section where it was raining enough to really get me wet.
This was a paved bike path more than a regular "trail," but there were some sections that had runnable dirt shoulders I took advantage of when I could.
It's nice in that there are no streets to cross and it's relatively flat. However, it's not really the same. Also, it is a single route out-and-back which certainly doesn't make it very interesting.
No real "hot spots" or soreness to speak of. Now, if I can just do that 6 times back-to-back I'm ready for a 50K.
Speed Work on the Mall with George. (That would be a fine Pointilist painting.) IT band finally started to hurt, although my lungs gave out slightly before that.

So impressed with your 5.2! We can increase our mileage together . . .

Very nice. I've actually been thinking about and wanting to run (which is totally weird for me), but have had trouble getting it all together.
Last week we went away and I brought everything to run - except the shoes I accidentally packed in a bag I ended up not bringing. Whoops!
I wouldn't mind going this weekend but it is super rainy and I'm not sure I'm quite dedicated for that just yet.

Evening run in Rock Creek Park, with Kir and the fireflies. Lots of girl talk. Lots of walking.
