A re-run of my September 4th run at Saratoga Gap. I really like that the trails are single track, mostly deserted, and on top of a mountain with tons of views and varied terrain. There are quite a few ascents and descents, but nothing treacherous. One field had a fair amount of what I think was poison oak, but I feel like I mostly avoided it.
I try not to focus on time, but noticed the time today was 1h5m - about 15 minutes faster than last time.
Just a quick run back at the place I did my very first trail run last autumn. Went faster than last time, but made the exact same wrong turns in the exact same places. Clearly, I'm wired to make those decisions.
I haven't done any trail running in the past couple of weeks due to my injury and schedule, but on Sunday I did do between 2 and 3 miles completely barefoot on a track.
I wanted to see if I would change my style even more as some suggest because the 5 Fingers still offered too much protection.
It don't think my stride was any different at all, but as the track was pretty rough and my feet felt the friction. Nothing major, though I did get some pretty intense weardown and blood blisters in 3 locations (2 smallest toes on the right foot and ball of left foot).
Clearly SOMETHING in my strides affects those areas no matter what kinds of shoes I'm wearing or not wearing.
Chilly morning run with K, K's first girlfriend, and her husband. The latter two were midget Canadians who looked slow but turned out to be unnaturally fast and cheerful. And Iron Man triathletes. K threatened not to invite them back since they shamed us so.

My first run in Rock Creek Park since November! Ahhhhhh. With G. We walked all the hills, even the small ones. Shhhh.

Again, road miles. But it was hot and gross out, even at 7 am, so I'll count them as splats.

They weren't really splat, since they were on a road. With my massage therapist. But I'll take whatever I can get these days.

These all look pretty good to me (sans oysters).
