About and hour of bouldering and I couldn't manage one ascent on a V1. I did figure one bouldering problem out towards the end, but by that time my grip was fried. I want to go back tonight for some top-roping, but I'm worried my grip won't be fully recovered. I know I need time to rest, but all I can think about is going back for more.
It should be 3 full ascents and 3 half ascents, but that would be hard to quantify. I burned out my grip on the first route catching and holding on to a couple falls.
Yesterday's time was a bit short, my friend couldn't stay too long. I couldn't get up a 5.8, but had little difficulty getting up a 5.9 (aside from my grip being nearly fried from hanging onto the 5.8 for so long).
Just climbing exercises today; no real routes. Did well on some (using only my non-dominant arm with legs and smearing to the top of gentler grades), did poorly on others (my second ABC climb with no hand holds went terribly, and mantling is a bitch).
Managed a 5.8 with some difficulty, but the learning experience was invaluable. I'll tackle an easier 5.9 Wednesday. Bouldering was crazy difficult; I definitely don't have the upper body or grip strength to make serious attempts at anything but the easiest V scaled climbs.

Hit the same 5.9, but I've come to the realization that I need to focus more on 5.8s. Establish a good base and move on from there.
